Chris Comfort - CFT 2, MAT Practitioner

Chris is an advanced personal trainer with over 20 years of professional training experience (who recently relocated from New York City). He is a Muscle Activation Techniques practitioner and specializes in several areas of health and fitness including postural correction, work space ergonomics, low back health, prenatal/postpartum fitness, and post-rehab conditioning. Additionally, he is an expert in exercise programming, able to manipulate exercise variables to achieve specific strength and body composition changes. Postural awareness and correction are always part of the approach. With corrective exercise and even regular fitness training, it is a filter through which exercises are programmed.

Muscle Activation Techniques, or MAT, works well for people who have pain, discomfort and/or stiffness, especially when associated with repetitive strain or compensations from old injuries. MAT Practitioners are able to assess an individual client’s neuromuscular function by preforming a series of mobility tests and then correlating the limitations in range of motion (ROM) with muscle tests that can identify which specific muscles are not contracting efficiently. Once a muscle weakness is identified, MAT Practitioners are trained to precisely “Activate” each muscle weakness through either isometric contractions or specific force application to the origin and insertion points of the affected muscle.

Rachel Savarese

Rachel has been training with Ali in the gym for over 10 years and recently just completed her NASM personal training certificate. Rachel is an expert in the True Balance Method. She is a mother of three and worked out consistently through all of her pregnancies. She loves challenging herself and is excited to share her love of fitness with everyone!

Gigi Fisher

After suffering a painful herniated disc in her neck that limited her ability to take on even basic daily tasks, and firmly opposed to a surgical action, Gigi decided it was time to take back control of her body. She began physical therapy and purposeful training with Ali, and with time and dedication she successfully regained her strength and mobility and transformed her body.

With a renewed love for exercise, she decided to get certified as a personal trainer and has been studying with Ali for over 2 years to learn the True Balance Method. Ali developed the True Balance Method to help her clients build endurance, strength and core stability, often while recovering from injuries. Through this practice, Gigi has gained first hand knowledge of injury prevention, and form and technique, as well as muscle balance training. Gigi believes it’s never too late to adopt a healthy and strong lifestyle. And she embodies the importance of functional fitness in everyday life, especially as we age. At 50, she’s never felt stronger!
